DALLAS, TX — The 39th Annual Saint Patrick’s Day parade and Festival is scheduled for Saturday, March 17, and, while parade-goers are surely looking forward to the day of revelry, commuters might not be so excited.
The parade and festival will cause several road closures in and around the Lower Greenville area on Saturday, running from 9:00 a.m. to the end of the day.
The parade starts at 11:00 a.m. on Greenville Avenue at Blackwell Street and travels all the way down to SMU Boulevard. Northbound Greenville Avenue to Park Lane will be closed starting at 10:00 a.m. and southbound Greenville Avenue to Mockingbird Lane will be closed at 9:00 a.m. This stretch of Greenville Avenue, between Park Lane and Mockingbird Lane, will be closed in both directions until 4:00 p.m., so please plan accordingly if you are travelling in this area.
The Greenville Avenue Block Party will start once the parade finishes and will end at 9:00 p.m.
Dallas Police officers will be staged along the parade route and in the lower Greenville area to provide security for parade participants and spectators. Citizens are encouraged to seek out officers if they need any help or have any safety concerns.
